| Ill do my best to answer your questions as completely as possible.
1. While we do offer shared SSL, we dont recommend it. Two reasons:
a. SSL certificates only come with a set amount of fraud insurance, and we dont feel right spreading that amount among all our clients and basically "thinning it out".
b. Using a shared SSL causes your store to switch to our domain name in the address bar of the customers browser during checkout. There is plenty of research that points to the fact that this decreases sales, as it makes consumers uncomfortable that the address changed to a new website address while they were attempting to check out.
We can offer you a certificate of your own, issued by Geotrust in your domain name, for $59.95 per Year (Geotrust Sells it for $119). On a separate note, SSL Certificates dont "integrate into your website" per se`. They are installed at the server level, we handle this for you. Even if you buy it elsewhere, you can run a SSL Certificate on our servers. Just open a support ticket in the "shared Hosting" department if you purchase one elsewhere and need us to install it. There is an installation fee of $20.00 if you purchase the SSL certificate elsewhere and want us to install it.
2. Hyperactive as your host will support you with osCommerce for free via ticket system, on a question and answer basis. We do not however provide free programming services. Installing third party modules like credit card modules and payment gateways like Paypal is considered "programming and development" as we need to make changes to the programming code to install these modules. We are of course specialists at this though and a payment module installation rarely takes over 30 minutes of labor. To schedule a module installation simply enter a ticket into the "Programming and Development" department. There are currently 3 main versions of osCommerce:
a. osCommerce MS 2.2 - this is the stock plain vanilla version with no included modules. *Installed right from your Cpanel control panel, just click "Fantastico" from your control panel*
b. CRE Loaded - a Great full featured version with about 50 modules installed. The developers of this version charge roughly $100.00 for the pro version with all features enabled. *installed for $49.95 by us*.
c. OSCMAX - The version we recommend. Open source, and free, Includes roughly 50 modules including Paypal and 5 SEO modules. Stock osCommerce product pages cannot be indexed by search engines! This saves allot of money as we dont have to charge you programming to install those 50 modules, they are already built in. *installed by us for $49.95*.
There are also over 3000 modules for osCommerce. The modules can be browsed and searched for at http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions. Feel free to find the module number you would like installed there, open a ticket with us, list the module # and we will give you a quote, then if you approve the quote, install it on your shop for you.
3. It will take longer for your new domain to propagate (24 to 72 hours) than it will for us to install, configure, and setup your store. It could be done today if you like!
